The Roman Russian racing driver and automotive journalist Rusinov Andrey Leontjev pushed a Nissan GT-R across the frozen Lake Baikal, setting a speed record for driving on ice, this sporty driving at 295 kph. The ice speed record was a joint project of Nissan in Russia and the company LAV Productions, which took place in Small Sea Strait, part of the Baikal water area between the west coast and the island Ol'khon in Russia . The Nissan GT-R 2012 used Bridgestone winter tires without studs.

The track length was divided into a stretch of 3.5 kilometers acceleration, timing part 1 kilometer, and an area of 3.5 kilometers braking. Driving Distances were fixed and evaluated by a committee
specially Automotive Russian Federation, as well as a group of four judges of Yaroslavl, Omsk, Yekaterinburg and Moscow. The car starts from a static position and develops the maximum speed at the distance of 1000 meters (1 km). RAF fixed average speed on this route.
